Research at ESSEC is conducted with the ultimate goal of enriching public debate, reflection, contributing to data-based decision-making. The ESSEC Research Center (CERESSEC) has long been committed to promoting synergies between researchers and society as a whole, and producing and sharing original and sound scientific knowledge.
The third edition of the annual ESSEC Science & Society conference, organized by the ESSEC Research Center, will focus on ways to move towards a more just world through the prism of housing and education.
This conference provides the opportunity for renowned academics, local representatives, senior executives, members of the community, students and alumni to meet and discuss this theme, with invitees presenting their ideas, initiatives and research.
Raising Awareness of Key Issues: Understanding the multiple benefits of sport and well-being on physical and mental health, social cohesion, chronic disease prevention, and inclusion. Highlighting inequalities in access to these practices and their impact on life trajectories.
Sharing Innovative Solutions: Showcasing concrete initiatives at the intersection of research, public policy, social innovation, and the sports sector, aimed at promoting a more active, healthier, and more equitable society. Emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches that integrate sport, health, urban planning, and social inclusion.
Fostering Dialogue and Collaboration: Providing a space for exchange between researchers, healthcare professionals, sports actors, public decision-makers, businesses, and citizens to share insights, experiences, and levers for action. Encouraging synergies to make sport and well-being key pillars of sustainable development.
Inspiring Commitment: Raising awareness and encouraging action from institutions, organizations, and individuals alike. Giving voice to project leaders, committed athletes, and engaged citizens to inspire concrete actions that enhance access to sport, physical activity, and well-being for all.
In a world striving for balance and resilience, sport emerges as a vital lever for physical, mental, and social health. This conference explores how physical activity — across all ages and in all settings — can become a cornerstone of a healthier, more harmonious future. Through the insights of experts, researchers, and practitioners, we will examine the connections between sport, prevention, inclusion, and quality of life, and collectively reflect on the policies and initiatives capable of sustainably transforming our ways of living.
A Space for Dialogue and Innovation with Lasting Impact
In this spirit, ESSEC Business School is hosting a "Science & Society" conference dedicated to these pressing issues. Through dynamic and constructive exchanges among academic experts, private sector professionals, public stakeholders, and students, we aim to shed light on current challenges and identify tangible paths forward. How can companies, in partnership with other stakeholders, help make access to sport and well-being more equitable? What innovative and inclusive tools can be leveraged to turn physical activity into a true driver of equal opportunity and improved quality of life for all?
Our Contribution to a Inclusive World
By bringing together diverse and committed voices, this conference seeks to move beyond merely acknowledging inequalities, opening up avenues for collaboration and innovation. It aligns with ESSEC’s mission: to shape responsible leaders and promote sustainable solutions in service of the greater good. We hope this event will inspire concrete actions and bold partnerships to advance the fight against inequalities while raising awareness among future leaders about their vital role. Because a fairer world is built together: join the discussion, inspire action.
